Native American Music, Dance, & TheaterThe WICHOZANI NATIVE AMERICAN DANCE & THEATER COMPANY is an original, theatrical forum for maintaining the integrity of American Indian cultural & artistic traditions. The company performers are all Native American tribal-affiliated, the American Indian experience is presented from a firsthand reality, and the cultural expression of Native American storytelling is preserved. Through the medium of theater, the company integrates traditional American Indian music & dance; dramatic acting; classic, modern, and contemporary dance rhythms; and original musical compositions. The company presents a spiritual perspective, representative of and inherent in the Native American existence. DANCES: Hoop, Eagle, Horsetail, Spear & Shield, Fancy Feather, Grass, Traditional (Men's & Women's), Fancy Shawl, Jingle Dress. MUSIC: Flute, Plains-style Singing & Drumming. THEATER: Variable theatrical productions of dramatized stories from Native American oral traditions. The Wichozani Native American Dance & Theater Company is available for solo & ensemble performances of traditional Native American music and dance for educational presentations, cultural demonstrations, guest lecturing, consulting, and for the promotion of American Indian awareness to the general public.
